Look who I got to spend the day with...

Their mama and I have been friends since university, but she is the kind of friend that you can pick up with and it seems like no time has passed. We don't live close to each other, so I always love it when we can get together:) We had a great visit, and of course took some pictures...more to come!

Adam & Kayla rock downtown Kingston...and get hitched!

Adam and Kayla were a blast to work with. Right from our first meeting over a year ago I felt so at ease with their "roll with it" take on life. I knew that their wedding would have it's own personality. Fun, hip, edgy, sassy and a huge dose of fun pretty much sums it up. The girls got ready and the Four Points here in downtown Kingston, and then we walked over to the Radisson for the ceremony. There is something so nice about being able to walk to your wedding, no cars, no parking, no hassle - simplicity, gotta love that. The ceremony was perfect. Adam and Kayla's vows were spoken from the heart, and you could feel the warmth and genuine happiness radiating from their friends and family who had gathered to support them on this very special moment in their lives. After they made it official, we walked up a few blocks to a beautiful green space right in the downtown core, slipped across to a gorgeous limestone wall (after all we do live in the 'Limestone City'), poked around a vintage video store before cooling down with some White Mountain Ice Cream (one of Kayla and Adam's favourite places to go). Congrats Adam and Kayla, and thank-you for choosing me to capture your wedding.

Three Generations

This is the summer for family photos! The weather has been hot, hot, hot, but it has seemed to lend itself well for family gatherings. I met this family through a friend, and we have been trying to coordinate everyone for a photo since last year. We finally connected and met up at beautiful Fairfield Park in Amherstview, just a few minutes outside of Kingston. Enjoy your sneak peak:)

Happy Birthday Max!

I can`t even describe how much I love my little man. He has such a great personality and he makes us laugh so much each day. Max is very different from his brother, he is his own little man. He would rather jump, climb, or run from place to place. He loves hot dogs and pickles, and gets so excited for a sip of pop. He is obsessed with everything Finn McMissile from the movie Cars 2. Max is always up for a cuddle in bed with a pile of books and his Zebs (cuddle buddy), or curling up on the couch to watch one of his favourite movies (currently Hoodwinked 2). He is into making up his own songs to the tune of `Good Night Ladies`, we hear a lot of `Train, train, traaaaain`. Max loves to swim and fish at the cottage, and he is usually up for any adventure. Aside from his crazy side, Max is super cuddly and definitely a mama lover! He is smart, kind, caring, and sensitive to people around him. He loves his family, and his family adores him. He just keeps getting better and better with every year. I love you Maxer, happy birthday sweet boy! xoxoxo

Here is a glimpse into the life and times of two year old Max. The past year has just zipped by! I can`t wait to watch him grow as my big boy three year old:)

Here are a few baby photos of Max as well as his first, second, and third birthday celebrations:)

Big Sandy Bay

Every summer (hopefully a couple of times), we pack a picnic lunch, ride the Wolfe Island Ferry across Lake Ontario, drive into the island, and head to Big Sandy Bay. The boys love the ferry ride. As soon as the car is in park, their seat belts are off and they're exploring all of the nooks and crannies of the ferry. They love to climb up on the steps at the front of the ferry and feel the splash of the waves in their faces as the ferry rolls over the waves. The drive to the entrance of Big Sandy Bay is short, but it's a well hidden beach. To get to the actual beach you have to walk about 1km (15 minutes) through winding forest paths. It definitely makes arriving worth all of the effort! We have gotten smarter about the whole trip, and now it's all about bringing a wagon for our stuff, and usually the kids on the trek back. Anyways, the kids love it, so it is worth the effort of going. The beach is so quiet, clean, and private. The water is beautiful shades of blue and aqua, and you can walk forever before it seems to drop off to deeper water. On the particular day in which we went, it was quite windy. The boys spent most of the day wave jumping, riding, and splashing. It was a great day. It's these type of days that I love remembering in September when I am back in the classroom teaching.

Henry Ryan

It's boys, boys, boys for the Dowker family. My twin sister-in-laws are both pregnant, only seven weeks apart - that's pretty cool, and they're both having boys. We`ve all been waiting anxiously for Emma and James to have their little boy Henry. After being a week overdue, and Emma having to be induced, Henry made his appearance:) He was born at 2:45am on August 9th, weighing 7lbs 15 oz.

Henry is so tiny, perfectly chubby and he has a beautiful peaches and cream skin tone. Here are some of Emma (and Kate's) maternity photos that we took a couple of weeks before Henry's birth. And of course, lots of sweet Henry. He is one very loved little baby, especially by his two cousins, Grant and Max (mine). Enjoy!
