Tim and Kat
January 11th, through the 18th was pure bliss. My husband and I traveled to the Dominican Republic for his brother's beach wedding. It was great to leave on Andy's birthday (how can I top that next year??!), and as much as we were going to miss them...we left the kids with Grandma.
You know that feeling, the rush of warm air that runs over your face when you step out somewhere tropical? I love it! It was as though relaxation completely took over my body the minute we arrived.
We stayed at a beautiful resort while in Punta Cana, the Riu Palace Macao. Our resort had all of the old world charm that we love. It was a huge group joining Tim and Kat to see them married, forty three people in all!
The week was amazing! We quickly slipped into the routine of waking late, hitting the beach, then pool, heading back for a siesta and then dining way past what would be acceptable if we had our kids with us.
We arrived on a Wednesday, and the wedding was scheduled for Saturday. We woke to blue skies and a warm breeze - perfect. Kat and the girls spent the day lounging by the pool followed by some pampering at a neighbouring resort. Tim took it easy, and hung out with his brothers for the day.
Every last detail fit beautifully with their beach vision. The chairs were covered with flowing white linen, and wrapped with turquoise sashes. Kat walked down a sand swept path, lined with towering palm trees. She met Tim through a double arch of palm leaves, dotted with tropical flowers, while a local trio played Dominican music on the beach. Fuschia flower petals were scattered down the aisle admist the sand and everyone was barefoot. The officiants stood with their backs facing the resort, so as not to block the amazing view of the ocean found behind Tim and Kat. The ceremony was short, sweet, and full of love. Many other people gathered at the perimeter to witness Tim and Kat take each other as husband and wife. I was so grateful that my husband and I were able to be a part of their special day.
The party continued on into the night. They had reserved an open air restaurant for their reception. The entire building was made of a local dark wood, lanterns hung from the posts, and the same white and turquoise linens carried through the tables as well. The food was delicious, the speeches heartfelt, and the music was a pumping into the night. Everyone was having such a great time, Kat's father was able to convince the resort to let the party continue for another hour past the supposed end time.
Congratulations Tim and Kat, and thank-you for inviting us to be a part of such an amazing event. We love you guys and are so fortunate to have you in our lives.
xoxo Lindsay

Andrew & Kelly
This was another special wedding for me to photograph for several reasons. First, I photographed Kelly's twin sister Kerri-Anne's wedding just over three years ago, and it's always nice to be asked back within a family. Second, Kelly and Kerri-Anne are one of my twin sister in laws, Kate and Emma's very best friends. I find it so unique that two sets of twins are the best of friends, and have been since they were very young. Now that all of the connections have been made, onto the wedding!
Andrew (Andy) and Kelly live on a beautiful property just outside of Charleston Lake Provincial Park. They had arranged for their ceremony to take place at Andy's Aunt and Uncle's house, in the middle of an amazing field, under an enormous oak tree. The ceremony was simple and elegant, and felt very intimate, despite being in the middle of a country field. They had included many personal touches to add their own personality to the ceremony.
Afterwards, everyone headed over to Andy and Kelly's house for the reception. They had a white tent put up in their side yard, and served their guests a delicious spread of home cooked goodness. It was a lovely evening, with friends, family, laughter, and dancing under the stars.
Congrats Andy and Kelly, your wedding was absolutely beautiful!
