Being Present...

Last month I did something that I've been looking forward to doing ever since I found out that I was pregnant with Nate, had our whole family photographed. I contacted Elizabeth, from Fulton Photography in Ottawa to see if she could squeeze in my family for a session, while she was down visiting her mom for Thanksgiving weekend. Luckily, she made room and everything worked out. I am not used to being on the other side of the camera, it's a little stressful to think about. I think that it's good to remember all of the effort that clients go to in order to prep for their sessions. Anyways, we(I) got our outfits ready, made sure that the boys were clean(which is no small feat some days in our house), and awoke to rain that Saturday morning. Thank god that the skies cleared, and it dried up a little bit for us to fit in our session. Elizabeth was wonderful with the boys. Max doesn't always warm up to new people easily, but somehow she worked him! It was nice to have Elizabeth behind the lens for a couple of reasons, for one, I have known her for a long time as her brother is one of my husband`s oldest and dearest childhood friends. Secondly, she rocks, I am so in love with our images. I think that it`s very important for everyone to be present in photos. So often, it`s the mom taking the pictures, so it is so special for me to have these photos of my boys and I when they are little. Next step, I am waiting (attempting to be patient)for my big canvas of one of our family photos to arrive in the mail. We`ve just have our family room painted and I can`t wait to create a photo wall with the images that Elizabeth took above our couch. Thank-you Elizabeth, for capturing my family so true to form, and for giving me these images of them so little to smile at every time I look at them.

Rod & Erin are getting married!

Rod and Erin were so easy to photograph. They, along with their beautiful daughter met up with me to celebrate their engagement, by capturing some images of their family. Enjoy your photos and I'm excited to shoot your wedding this spring!

Brad & Emily are Engaged!

I met up with Brad and Emily in downtown Kingston. It was a beautiful October day, lots of sunshine and warm temperatures. Downtown Kingston provided a beautiful background for some shots of Brad and Emily to celebrate their engagement! Congratulations you two, I hope that you enjoy your photos.

Nic & Ashley's Sneak Peak

Nic and Ashely had hands down the most unique wedding ceremony that I have ever photographed! You'll have to wait to see what I mean once I work my way though their images, but you won't be disappointed. The whole day was playful yet relaxed. Ashley and Nic, as well as their families were so inviting and kind, they were a pleasure to work with. Here are a few images to tie you over, I hope that you all had an amazing night tearing up the dance floor!

More to love!

I can't believe that Nate is 2 months old! Time is flying by, and we are enjoying every minute with our littlest one who weighs in at 14 lbs. 14 oz.! He melts our hearts when he smiles, and is trying to "talk" to us, especially to his brothers. My favourite moments are those when the big boys are at school, and I'm free to just lounge around and cuddle him all day. Here is Nate at 1 month, and 2 months old:)

Pat & Sarah Tie the Knot

When I woke up on this Saturday morning in September, I looked out my window to find a dark, rainy, windy, very wet day.  The rain pounded on the pavement for most of the morning, but then miraculously, let up by early afternoon.  As I drove out to Pat & Sarah's house, the sky brightened up, everything dried up a little, and it turned into a beautiful afternoon to get married.

Pat & Sarah live in a conservation area, surrounded by hundreds of enormous trees, winding roads and a peaceful lake.  Everything had a family feel, from the location, to the decorations, to the food.

Their vows were simple, sweet and meaningful filled with touching words and a few laughs.  Pat & Sarah's guests only had to walk down a short path to find themselves at the lakeside reception. We didn't have to travel far, as the whole conservation area where they live was the most perfect background for dreamy wedding photos.

Congratulations Pat & Sarah, it was a pleasure to be a part of your special day:)
